Ernest David Middleton Sr.

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Pasley's Mortuary announces the passing of Ernest Middleton Sr., 93, of James Island, SC who answered the Summons of our heavenly father to retire from the labors here on earth to his rewards in heaven on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Mr. Middleton leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife, Mrs. Thelma J. Coleman Middleton; son, Ernest D. Middleton Jr.; daughter-in-law, Shaunille T. Middleton; sister-in-law, Apostle Ruth Middleton.

Mr. Middleton taught at various schools within the Charleston County School District with the majority of his career being at R.D Schroeder Middle School for 35 years. Mr. Middleton also served as a football and basketball coach. After retiring from his teaching career Mr. Middleton served as a Constable with The Charleston County Sheriff Office.

The family of Mr. Middleton has request all floral arrangements to please be sent to Pasley's Mortuary.

The relatives and friends of Mr. Ernest David Middleton Sr. are invited to attend his Celebration Of Life on Saturday, July 15, 2023, 11:00 AM in Morris Brown AME Church, 13 Morris Street., Charleston, SC. Interment: Riverview Memorial Gardens. A Visitation will be held at the mortuary on Friday from 5-7PM.
